The "Dil Se" Gift-a-Car Programme is a special offering from MARUTI /MSIL to all Indians' residing overseas. Under this programme, an Indian residing overseas can purchase and gift a Maruti Suzuki car online to his family/relatives/friends in India.

All Indians residing overseas are eligible to purchase a car and gift it to their family/relatives/friends in India.

Yes! One can gift a car to a "Charitable or Non-profit Organization/Institution" under this programme. Here, the beneficiary will be the "Charitable or Non-profit Organization/Institution" to whom/which you want to gift.

Under this programme, the exchange facility is not online. However, a customer can sell his used car to a MSIL True Value dealer. Further, he can also avail the exchange or loyalty bonus, as may be applicable. Please note that the exchange and the purchase of the new car shall be considered as two separate transactions. The value of the used car cannot be adjusted against the Quotation value.

This website carries City wise Price information of more than 200 Indian Cities. These prices have been derived after taking into account Ex showroom Price plus First Year Insurance plus    Extended warranty for the Third Yearminus Special discount.

Note: Registration, Road Tax and other local taxes(Octroi & etc if applicable) are extra and collected from Beneficiary at the time of delivery.

 

Can I get delivery of the vehicle any where in India?

Yes! You can get the delivery of vehicle in any city of your choice, as mentioned in the concerned "Quotation Number".

On the website, click on the link " Car Models ", Select model you wish to gift, and you can view the City Specific Price of your vehicle. You will have to further " Sign-up " to proceed further. Please go through the steps mentioned under " How to Gift-a-Car " for a comprehensive overview.

A Simple 5 Step Procedure would be:

Step - 1: "Sign-up" on the website

Step - 2: Choose & decide the Car Model/Variant/Colour/City

Step - 3: Generate a "Quote"

Step - 4: Agree to "Terms and Conditions" , Enter Your  "Beneficiary details "

Step - 5: Select an ideal Payment Option

Note: In case of payment via Money Transfer, please update details against the "Quotation Number"

Your Quotation shall be valid for a period of 15 days from the Quotation date. You will have to make the payment within the stipulated time against your "Quotation Number". You will have to generate a new "Quotation Number" to make a purchase, if the earlier Quotation has expired.

In case you have applied for Finance, the Quotation shall be valid for a period of 2 months from the Quotation date. You need to make the downpayment within 15 days from the day that you have received the confirmation from the concerned Financier.

The downpayment amount shall be indicated to you on the website against your relevant "Quotation Number" under the link - " My Account ".

Yes! A customer can purchase a car in his/ her name. But, to have the vehicle registered in his/her name he/she needs to have a residence proof and an identification proof, in India.

Yes! The desired date of delivery cannot be more than 2 months from the date of payment.

Yes! You can request for a dealer of your choice under the field - "Special Instructions". Please note that the delivery will be subject to the availability of the car at that particular dealer and MSIL may choose to change the dealer, under certain circumstances.

As per the Terms & Conditions, one cannot change the car model or color or variant after making a payment against a particular "Quotation Number". However, under special circumstances MSIL may consider to allow change further to a written request from the Customer. Please note that the changes will be considered if & only if the change involves upgradation of the model or variant w.r.t the Value Consideration. MSIL reserves the right to decline the request.

Yes! A NRI residing in India can purchase a car under this programme. However, he will have to make a payment using either his Credit Card or his NRE/NRO Account

Can I get finance for gifting a car?

Yes! You can avail finance from any of the Preferred Financiers'.

You can make the payment as against the "Margin Money" requirement of your Loan Case, in any of the following modes:

How secure is the payment gateway?

The website is completely secure. The payment gateway has been provided by Citibank. The website has necessary security provided by VeriSign.

Can one make a payment using more than one instrument - Cheque or DD?

Yes! A payment involving the usage of either 2 Cheques or 2 DDs' or 1 Cheque & 1 DD is allowed. However, one part of the payment (Minimum sum of Rs. 50,000) will have to be made using his/her NRE/NRO Account and the balance can be through any other bank account, including the Beneficiary's account.

Can one make payment using multiple Credit Cards?

Yes, payment can be made using 2 different credit cards or same credit card twice.

Please select the second option under "Mode of Payments" i.e. Two Different Credit Cards Or Same Credit Card Two Times > Enter the amount you want to pay through first credit card > Redirect to Citibank payment gateway > Enter credit card no and CVV no > Submit.
After the approval of the credit card transaction, balance amount is appeared on the payment screen> Redirect to Citibank payment gateway > Enter your credit card no and CVV no > Submit.

Can one make a payment using "SWIFT" or  "Internet banking" ?

Yes! One can make a money transfer into our account using the SWIFT mode or Internet banking facilities. One can also transfer money in more than one transaction either from one bank account or using more than one bank account. Once YOU have entered your details w.r.t your Loan Requirement; Chosen your Financier and submitted the information against a "Quotation Number"; the Financier will contact YOU and your relative in India (as per details provided by YOU online) and will detail out the terms of the offer.

The Bank representative will hand over a list of required documents and explain the procedure of availing finance along with the "Loan Agreement" to the "Primary Applicant" in India.

The Car/ Loan can be in either of the names of your Beneficiary in India or in Your name (conditions apply).

Since YOU will stand as guarantor, YOU can service the loan through your NRE account or through your Beneficiary's resident account.

Yes. In case you have Citibank    RCA,   we will not require a proof of Income     (for Loan-To-Values up to 70%). This is subject to:

No! The surprise element cannot be maintained w.r.t "Auto Loans". The financier will have to make contact with both the - customer and the beneficiary in order to process the loan.

The programme does not attract any "Gift Tax". Gift of a Maruti Suzuki Car by an Indian residing overseas (NRI/PIO) will not be taxable as income to the Beneficiary. Under the Income Tax Act, gift from a non relative for "any sum of money" more than twenty five thousand rupees is treated as income but the gift of Car does not come under the terminology "any sum of money". However we wish to mention that we shall not be the competent authorities to comment on the "Tax Implications"; you are requested to consult your "CA/CPA" for any clarifications.

Yes it is advisable to declare the said receipt of Maruti Suzuki car as gift in his/her income tax return filed for the relevant year.

No! The vehicle will be delivered and registered in the name of Beneficiary.

Can my Beneficiary make a will in respect of this car.

If your Beneficiary sells this car at lesser value than at the time of receiving the gift then no income tax is payable by him/her at the time of sale.

In order to comply with the requirements of "Registration Authorities", the following documents need to be submitted to the delivering dealer by the Beneficiary, while accepting delivery of the vehicle:

a. Residence proof: A photo copy of any of these documents -

• Ration Card
• Voter ID Card
• Telephone Bill
• Electricity Bill
• Driving License
• Passport

b. Photo copy of PAN (Permanent Account Number) card or Form 60 (In case PAN is not available).

c. "Acceptance Letter" duly signed by the Beneficiary (The Acceptance Letter will be provided by the Dealer at the time of delivery)

Yes! The vehicle shall be home delivered. This facility is complimentary under the programme.

The vehicle delivery shall be delivered within 4 weeks from the receipt of payment and complete documentation. Delivery commitments are influenced by- the proximity of the delivery location from a MARUTI Suzuki dealership; availability of the model booked.

Yes! You can track delivery of your Order through your personal login in "My Account" against the relevant "Quotation Number'. As soon as we have received your payment, we shall update your Quotation status to - "Payment Received & Delivery Under Process". Also as against every critical action of yours, the "Quotation Number" shall be updated.

Following are the documents that shall be handed over to the Beneficiary, while delivering the vehicle:
